I started at Camosun College in the fall of 2025 in the Environmental Technology Diploma program.
As part of the Environmental Technology Diploma program, I am learning the field skills, science and technology that will be important to understand and work in the Environmental Science field. With a focus on learning and applying the skill towards GIS and the analysis of collected data, I have taken an interest in how I can apply GIS tools, R programming, and how to apply those to ecology, biology and hydrology.
I chose to reconnect with my interest in environmental studies after making the decision to change career paths after running my business for 5 years. It’s been great to learn more and reconnect with my love for animals, the environment, and connection with people who are also interested in protecting our wild spaces and those that live within them.
The most impactful classes have been:
- GEOG100- Environment and Sustainability
- ENVR115- Atmosphere and Hydrosphere
- ENVR112- Environmental Research and Practice
- STAT216- Applied Statistics
- BIOL228- Ecology
- CHEM 253- Environmental Chemistry
- BIOL240- Wildlife and Habitat
